Jeans are pretty much a way of life as far as I’m concerned. You can never have too many, especially when you consider how every pair of jeans is made differently. Straight leg jeans, skinny jeans (yes, they’re still “in”—I don’t care what Gen Z says), ripped jeans, cropped jeans—there’s a style and silhouette for every occasion. Which is why jeans are so incredibly versatile and the anchor of every good outfit. In this denim guide, I’m going to go over the 2021 jean trends and share my absolute favorites with you including white jeans, straight leg jeans, and so many more.

Slim Fit Jeans
This is the 2021 version of the skinny jean. The high rise, slim straight silhouette is so figure flattering. They help elongate your legs and are the perfect pair of jeans for everyday. I like this darker wash for “dressing up” outfits as business casual, for date night or church. This pair has some stretch and feel like butter on! Definitely worth the investment. They also come in a lighter wash. If you are looking to update your look and branch out from your skinny jeans this is the perfect style to try.
Straight Leg Jeans
Vintage Straight Leg 90’s Pinch Waist Straight Leg
I love the more relaxed fit straight leg jeans have. They are as comfy as they are chic. The first pair are a high rise are fitted through the thighs and have an ever so slight tampering at the ankle. They have 1% spandex so there is a little stretch for comfort. I cut mine at the hemline for a raw edge look.
The second pair are more of a true straight silhouette with the same width down the entire leg. These are a 12+” rise and really help to accentuate the smallest part of your waist. I love the relaxed fit. They are a 100% cotton, so these have no stretch. They loosen & mold with your body through wear.
The 90’s Loose Fit
These very relaxed style 90’s jeans are definitely have a moment in fashion right now. I love the longer inseam length and very comfortable, loose fit. It feels like you’re wearing sweatpants, they are that comfy. The high rise fit (12″) of this pair is very figure flattering and helps give you shape, even with the baggier silhouette. The key to styling these jeans is to pair them with a tighter fitting top, or tuck in your top, blouse, or sweater to show off your waist. Wearing a pointed toe shoe like mules or booties helps elevate these very casual jeans.
White Jeans
Yes you can wear white jeans after Labor Day. In fact they are so chic. I love this “bone” colored pair of straight leg, white jeans. They pair so beautifully with all the warm tones of fall, (camel, brown, olive green & burgundy). Wearing all white or shades of cream monochromatic look is my favorite way to style these jeans in the colder months. Add a chunky knit sweater and suede Chelsea boots to complete this fall uniform.
Vintage Wash Black Jeans
The vintage, lighter wash, black straight leg jeans feels modern and looks effortless. This wash looks more casual and approachable, compared to a jet black wash (which there is definitely a place for those jeans in your wardrobe). If you are looking up update your closet this fall, I highly recommend this wash and style of jeans. Dress them up with a blouse and booties. Or dress them down with a graphic sweatshirt and sneakers. They will pretty much go with anything in your closet.
