New Years Eve is right around the corner and I am getting excited to welcome 2018! I love the excuse to get all dressed up. Whether you celebrate at home or head out for a night on the town…This look is casual yet chic, with some sparkle, and edge!
Throw a long coat over your shoulders to automatically elevate a casual look. I love this camel color becuase it is neutral and goes with everything. And the cut of this coat is so feminie and polished.
Plus if you live in a colder climate (hello Iowa) an extra layer is needed this time of year if your heading outside!
This soft, chunky, tunic sweater paired with faux leather leggings, adds some edgyness to a sparkly, ornate sweater. I sized up 2 sizes in this sweater for a more overszied fit, and more coverage with these sexy leggings. Add a fun, fur pompom beanie to keep your head warm as you ring in the New Year.
Add a simple black bootie, or flats to this complete this look. Black over the knee boots would also make a real statement paired with these leggings, but hey it is NYE its ok to be a little over the top!
Other outfit ideas to make a statment this NYE….
Add a bold red lip to your look. It is a little bit, sexy, and playful….and goes with everything.Do a fun updo, or curl your hair in a fun new way, or add some sprakle with a headband. This adds polish even if your wearng very casual outfit. Wear some heels. They dress up a pair of jeans and basic top, so effortlessly. Have fun with it, and bring out that pair you have hidden in the back of your closet, you have been saving for a “special occation”. Add drama with your eye makeup. Draw a cat eye with black liquid liner, do a smokey eye, or add a little sparkle to your lids with a shimmer shadow. The point is to have fun, be playful, and use what you already have. Don’t go out and buy a brand new outfit your going to only wear your NYE….shop your closet/makeup drawer and get creatAive. Pick one piece you love as your statement (a sweater, a skirt, a pair of boots, and jacket) and build your look around that piece. Wear some extra accessories…a watch, a few bracelets, big earrings, a statement necklace, a colorful bag. The more the better, espicaly for NYE!
I hope this look and these ideas inspire you as your getting ready to celebrate the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018! Happy New Year!!
